Check that the timing belt is in time. Check the plug wires are plugged in proper order. Check the compression. Is the gas in the tank fresh (i.e. does it still smell like gas)?

One dead cylinder, or stale gas makes the Civic engine very hard to start.

I put fresh fuel, plugs are in correct order. I also tried spraying starting fluid in the intake. Am i not getting fuel throught the fuel rail to the plugs?
