96 civic ex PW prob

Default 96 civic ex PW prob

i have been trying to figure out the problem with the PW on a 96 civic ex 2dr. the windows were stuck half way down and then would not move up or down i moved the track up so the windows would be up but neather of the switches work and the fuses are fine what could the problem be??? and how would i go about fixing it with regular hand tools. thanks

First double check whether fuse 24 (under dash) or 46 (under hood) are blown.

Next test the PW relay in the under-dash fuse box.

how would you go about checking that with hand tools and with checking all that

Visual inspection is usually sufficient to see whether a fuse is blown. The internal metal wire connecting the two terminals will be broken.

To test the relay, you'll need both a continuity tester and a source of battery power (your car battery). You can purchase an inexpensive continuity tester from an auto parts or hardware store.
