99 civic dx tranny
After running it in the driveway a few days off and on. It's now holding in gear better! I did the second fluid change and actually DROVE the car some. Probably 4-5 miles before it would go to neutral. SO, I'm going to change it 2 more times and see where I stand, before buying another tranny.
Nope, I'm using Castrol Import ATF. So far, I've only done it twice. So 6 quarts total. And it's now driveable some. Before, it wouldn't even stay ingear for one minute,LITERALLY> I was watching the clock. Now it stayed for around 10 minutes-maybe. So maybe one or two more times I'll be good to go. IF it works, I'll just start doing it with Honda Fluid 2/3 times and I'll be close to normal. Well, as normal as I could be.....;p

I concurr with bass. If it still taking that much fluid something is wrong and it will go out .
If you can find me a tranny for $100 I'll take it. I think I spent 40ish so far on fluid. It's now able to drive 5+ miles. I don't know if the fluid has ever been changed. Cheapest tranny I've found is- $325 used. So I don't know what I'll be buying. Cheapest rebuilt I've found is $ 850.
I don't see how I've used SO much fluid. 9 quarts and it's better. I'm paying $4 a quart.
I'm going to drive it some more, then change it one more time and see where it stands.
Besides, I can't spend $300 for a tranny right now. UNless you want to send me either money or a tranny............
