Airborne Civic-Help
I have a 2007 Automatic Honda Civic with 55,000 miles on it. Over the past month, when I hit a bump, my car goes airborne (obviously not high), but enough that if I'm in a curve, with my wheels turned when I hit the bump, my car lands off center and I'm all over the place, fighting the car. My friend said he's never been in a car that does that. Once, he was in the backseat, and he even said "This car doesn't like bumps does it?"
Fast forward to a week or so ago and I was out with my Wife and Children, and it was raining. I had to slow down to about 55Mph on the Interstate because with every bump, I was hydroplaining. it wasn't even raining hard. When I entered an overpass on the interstate, it would knock my car sideways and I almost lost it several times on the way home. I had to slow down to 50 or less just to keep control of the car.
Any clue what that could be? Could it be the Shocks or Struts? With only 55,000 miles on it, I wouldn't think it was the shocks.

How worn are your tires? Are they original? 55 000 miles would be the end of life for most OEM tires. The reason I ask is hydro planing is caused by tires not being able to remove water. Worn out tires hydro plane very easily due to having no thread depth.
Sound to me like your rear wheel alignment is way out to lunch. How even is your rear tire wear. If your rear tires are taking a beating (as in uneven wear) best you start by researching TSB 08-001...then get on with an alignment.
Thanks to everyone, and sorry for my delay reposting. My tires are fine...they are a year old. It has nothing to do with my tires and displacing the water as the issue happens on dry road...it was just compounded by the existence of rain a few weeks back. The Alignment could be an issue, although I just had a 4 wheel alignment back in September. But, with potholes that we have around here, it could be out again. I'm still leaning towards the suspension, but at 55,000 miles, that just seems odd. The folks that I've let ride with me to feel what's going on has said the same thing one of the other Posters mentioned "Never seen a car ever react this way". It didn't used to react this way. it's only been within the last month or so.
If you have been hitting pot holes, it is possible that you have blown a strut. If you push on each corner of the car, does it bounce or just come back up and stop? It's also possible that something is loose. When you take it in for the alignment, have them check all of the suspension bolts.
