Default Blew Gasket... again

Well, I believe I blew the midway gasket in my 4-2-1 header.... again. I think it happened when it was a rainy day and my car had 4 people in it, two of the people over 250 lb.s (one of them including me) and I was also goosing it around a bit.

The new gasket I plan on putting inis rounded off on one side and the other side is flat. I believe the rounded off side should be faceing where the exhaust is coming from right?

I plan on just unscrewing the two piece header, and just dropping the exhaust pipes down. Then replaceing and tightening. Run it hard a few times then retightening. Anything I'm missing or should also do?

Thanks.

when you have it apart take a stright edge and make sure the flanges arnt warped at all. if they are, even if you torque the bolts to spec, a little bit of hot gas will seep by and eventually do it again.

Heres the old gasket I took out, hopefully the new one will last longer. It broke into two pieces.

sorry haven't been on in a few days....

DreamTeam87: I bought mine off the meganracing website, it costs $15 for two replacement gaskets.

It's been working well after I replaced the gasket [sm=smiley20.gif], meganracing tech support said to torque down the middle nut first than the other two, to 15 ft lbs. Then after running it for a little bit torque to25 ft. lbs.
