civic transmissions
howdy long time not talk/post. Anyways Just an update, i went through the DIY short throw shifter install and applied it to my 00, i also replaced the bushings with polyurethane ones and it turned out brilliantly.
I offer a quick question though, my civic has 91k on it and i purchased it at 88, as you can tell i just put around town and to work with it. Ever since i bought it the tranny has problems going into reverse, like if i put it in and release the clutch it wont engage Reverse sometimes, so i put it in 5th then reverse FIRMLY and it goes. I think i have to replace the tranny its the stock one that comes with the D16y7 motor..can i bolt up a stronger tranny to this motor? like a GSR tranny or even an RSX-S 6 speed?
VERY INTERESTED
thanksb

I think all or almost all manual trannys do this time to time, this is by design. The easy method to put it into reverse if it does not want to is to release the clutch and depress it again. This turns gears to a different position.
