Clutch Replacement -2000 Civic
The clutch is going out on our 2000 Civic Si. This car is "shared" by my two daughters (16 & 19). Our oldest is attending Ohio State. The bottomline here is that Dad had to dust off his old "wrenching" skills and keep this thing running safely - can't afford the shops - college tuition / expenses are outrageously high.
I'm basically a pretty good DIY mechanic - it's just been 30 years since I last did anything major.
What manuals (and where do I get them) will give me instructions on replacing the clutch? I've also got to do upper ball joints, struts, etc.
I'm not afraid to get my hands very dirty and put some long hours of hard work. Any suggestions?

Lucky for you, the Honda world has connections. Someone scanned the service manual page by page and saved it in .pdf format.
Download the factory service manual from www.hondatech.info and it'll give you all the information you'll ever need on the Civic. Look under the Manuals area, then Civic. You'll see the 96-00 Civic one.

Thanks for the tip WellFedHobo - I've downloaded the manual and I'm studying up on my challenge.
I'm gonna use this as an excuse for some more tools - any suggestions on a good clutch replacement kit?

and cheap too, only a little over 100 on amazon. make sure you take the flywheel to get resurfaced though before you put it back on..unless it's like new...
Check the Majestic Honda site for discount OEM parts -- pressure plate, friction disk, release bearing. Replace or resurface the flywheel and consider also replacing the clutch release fork, the pilot bearing in the flywheel, and the rear main oil seal.
