what is the FITV i have the same problem i have coolant going in the intake side through that port it is all over the intake manifold and i got both thermostat housings with the iacv and one with out i think thats what the part is called can i make mine work with out it ?????

FITV = Fast Idle Thermal Valve. It bypasses more air past the throttle plate to increase idle speed when the coolant is very cold for starts in the winter. It closes shortly after a cold start, leaving idle in control only by the electric IACV system. Some versions after 1996 have a plastic FITV mounted on the thermostat housing. The FITV only opens below 60 F. If you are in a warm climate you can just blank it off.
