Default Extremely Bad Gas Mileage after Tranny Swap

The 5 speed transmission in my 96 ex went out after about 170K. I bought a tranny out of an early 90 (DX maybe) and installed it. I was getting 350 miles to a tank of gas and now I get around 250. I've changed spark plugs, fuel filter, and one of the O2 sensors which was completely black!

I can drive the car for a couple hundred miles and then the check engine light will come on. "System too lean (Bank 1)" is the error code the computer puts out. The car has no power now and the bad gas mileage is killing me.

ANY IDEAS????????????

I would be SOOOO appreciative!
