Default Gas tank went empty now car want start

I have a 95 Honda Civic and I drove it until the gas tank went on empty and the car cut off. I called triple A and the man came and gave me 2-3 gallons of gas but the car wouldn't start. I'm clueless about what the problem is. I was told because the car went on empty there is no fuel in the line and to try starting and pumping fuel pedal until the gas is flowing agian. I did that for a few mintues and nothing happend. I also heard the fuel pump may be burnt out but everything was fine unitl the car went on empty. I also was told it may be dirty fuel injectors and that driving on empty caused dirt and sediment from the bottom of the fuel tank to rise up and clog my fuel injectors. I wanna get my car fixed but I want to have an idea about what is wrong so I want get mislead and end up spending more money than I have to. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated.

check for fuel pressure at the filter, if its there, just try cranking on it for a while. no longer than 15 seconds at a time though, or youll ruin your starter. you have to give it a minute or two to cool between cranking.

It's EFI, that's what happens when you run it dry.

When you check the fuel pressure, check it post-fuel-filter. If you did indeed suck the gunk off the bottom of the tank, there's a good chance it's built up in the fuel filter.
