the cable you are talking about is called a kick down cable.

 

does anyone have a schematic of the cooling system? i have a leak at the point where the top radiator hose connects to the engine. it looks like the gasket around the metal end coming from the engine has gone bad. i need to figure out what that would be called so i can find the gasket. I'll take a pic later. thanks for the help

 

It's called a water outlet. Looks like it uses a liquid gasket though, like Hondabond.

 

thanks! I got the gasket and when I tried to take the water outlet off i found the actual problem. The bottom bolt was snapped in half and someone had just filled the hole with liquid gasket. antifreeze was pouring out of the hole and the bottom of the gasket. I cleaned all the old gasket off and put new on but since i dont have the tools to get the bolt out i'll have to take it to a shop and have it drilled out. YAY. one thing after another lol. Thank goodness I don't have much money in this little guy. Im starting to feel sorry it lol. Im almost tempted to really start spending some money on it. The little bastard is pretty much duck taped and glued together and still somehow gets me back and fourth everyday. Shame to let him just suffer.
