Default Hard time shifting

Ok so I was pretty sure there was a problem when i drove my 88 CRX hf home with shifting it since it took grunt power to put it into gear.....Tho I am not sure what the problem is , for its the same when the car is running and when its not, I depress the clutch pedal , the stick moves nice in the neutral position but when you try to put it into a gear it requires some muscle....when it drives the gears dont grind or anything like that either.....so yea I am unsure what it is....the Linkage needing to be really lubed??, or something worse really hoping its not the trans itself but yea anyone got anything???
