if you can get free labor than have your guy run a diagnostics, he'll be able to tell you if its the valve seals or rings.
rings dont cost much at all, niether do valves.

niether are normally over 70 USD, but your mechanic is gonna scream every diffrent kind of profanity you could emagine if its not even a upgrade.
