Is the CEL ON?

Did you recently do any work on the engine?

As you mentioned, check carefully for a leaking vacuum hose or connection and clean the IACV as it may be clogged with soot.

Is the coolant level low? Check under the radiator cap when the engine is cool. If the fluid is low, top off and bleed the system of trapped air.

If the battery had been disconnected or run down during the period of non-use, it will run poorly for a little while until the computer recalibrates itself.

You may also want to check and make sure all your sensors are fitting correctly.
