Default Interior cabin fan

So I've been having a problem with the interior cabin fan that vents hot and a/c air. The fan works when I open the glove box and manually turn the fan. However, when the car is turned off for a period of time nothing works—a/c, heat, or the fan in general.

Any ideas what I should do. I've replaced the cabin filters, and checked the fuses; but I can't figure out what the problem might be. Does the fan need to to be lubricated, cleaned out, or is there another problem?

Any suggestions on what could resolve the problem?

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like the motor is worn out. Turn the switch on high, turn the key on, and measure voltage across the motor plug (while plugged in). If you have 12 volts but the motor doesn't turn, the motor is bad.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. The fan worked fine this morning. It seems to cut only when the car, or weather, is hot. Is there anything else it could be? And if I need to replace the fan motor can I get a second-hand one cheaply or is it an easy replacement?

Thanks again.
