Default leak causing power surge?

I have a 00 hatch. It has been totaled and rebuilt. It leaks pretty bad. We had a storm the other night and it had about 2 inches of standing water on the passenger side floor. I cleaned most of the water out and got the interior pretty dry. when i started it up the SRS light came on along with the Battery light and the electrical seemed to be surging. What could be wrong with it? Water in the ECU or the alternator? any help i would be very grateful.

Yeah, I would bet on the fact that you have water somewhere in the electrical system. I had a 90 accord that got flooded twice in six months(I lived in Savannah at the time. LOL) It was never the same again.

I would take as much stuff out of it as you can and try to dry out everything electrical. Other than that, I dont know what to tell you. I spent 9 months trying to track down all the bugs in my old accord. I finally had to get rid of it. I was going insane trying to find the problem.

Sorry to be a downer. Mabey someone else will have a great idea. Good luck though.
