OK guys I got a problem here. I'm in the middle of changing the belt, and I need to get the bolt in the middle of the drivebelt idler pulley off so that I can take off the pulley. The problem is, the bolt is practically completely stripped and theres about 1 inch of clearance. Any suggestions?

I think there's a special tool at sears that's like abox end wrench that cuts into the bolt...I never used it, but I heard only good things about them. also a wisegrip and a breaker bar could probably do it...but I'd try sears first

OK I got the bolt off with a stripped bolt remover kit thingy. It worked great. Now I'm havin trouble getting the crankshaft pulley bolt off. I've got the strap wrench to hold it stationary, and the breaker bar, but it just won't budge. Oh well, I'll get it eventually. Also, how important is it to keep the #1 piston at TDC when taking off that bolt?

if you do the timing the way i talked about, with the little pin holding the cam, and lining up the crank when you put the belt on, then its not an issue at all.
