LOOK HONDA EXPERTS help me timing belt
hi
i have a civic hatch 1991 1500 vtec(import).the car is the 1992 rounder shape.
i went to service it today and couldent manage to do the timing belt.i managed to remove the top cover which is held by
two bolts and the rocker cover but couldent seem to get in there to get the bottom cover off.
in order to change the belt do i need to remove all the air con and power steering pump and all there brackets or
is there a easier way as seems alot of work just to change the belt.
hope someone can help cheers

I'm no where near an expert, but have replaced a couple timing belts successfully. A good idea would be to get a manual and follow all the steps to do it right. You will have to take off the crank pulley, ugh have fun with that, jack up the car and take the driver side wheel off to get to it better, You will also have to take off the motor mount on that side. You probably want to get a jack under the motor, or some way to hold it up so it won't move on that side without the mount. I didn't have to take any of the air conditioning off when I did mine.

Basically just do what ilinihonda said. Take off the driver's side front tire so you can get at the crank pulley. Take off the plastic mudguard, put a jack under the pan (with something on top of it to diffuse the weight), then take that mount off. Then you can raise and lower the engine as you need to in order to get at those pesky timing cover bolts. Just don't let the engine hang unsupported.
