Hello,

I have a 2004 civic. last night it started to act up. the check engine light came on and the key indicator on the instrument panel started to flash. I checked in the owner manual and it said that if the key indicator started to flash the car was not recognizing the key fob. i tried my code reader and it just gave me an error. My tach does not move and the temperature gauge does not move also. Thinking it might be an issue with the key i was using i got my valet key and the same thing happen.

When driving it i cant go over 10 mph in 1st gear 20 in 2nd gear and so on...the fastest i was able to go was 59 in 5th. when i reached 10 in 1st it seemed like the fuel cut off kicked in. any time i hit 59 the same thing happen.

i went to auto zone to see if they could use there machine to test it and they told me to see the dealer or certified mechanic.

If anyone has any idea what could be causing it please let me know.
