Misfire In All Gears
2000 Civic EX Coupe. 5 speed (non v-tech). The car is stumbling in all gears especially under heavy throttle application. Seems to be a typical distributor problem however, I've replaced the distributor, cap and rotor with no improvement. Local mechanic checked the car with his engine analyzer and it read "multiple cylinder misfire". That's when he recommended the distributor replacement. I'm not sure where to look at this point. Any ideas? Thanks.

The plugs were replaced about a year ago and have about 20,000 miles on them. The plug wires are some kind of high performance wire that the previous owner had installed about 6 or so years ago. With the multiple cylinder misfire readout wouldn't all the wires have to be bad? Kind of strange that they would all go at once. The coil should be new as it's located inside the new distributor. Where is the ICM located?
O.K. I'll replace the plugs and wires. Not sure if the fuel filter has ever been replaced. Where is it located? If you say inside the fuel tank I'll probably hang myself!! One other thing , the previous owner had installed a fuel pressure gauge by the fire wall and it always reads a constant 30 psi. I just looked at it and it appears to be mounted to the top of the fuel filter so I guess I just answered my own question. If the filter was bad would the pressure reading fluctuate?
