Default oil filter issue

I recently changed my oil and it has been leaking a bit. We found out that when I pulled off my old filter, the old oring stuck to the car so now there are two there causing the leak. Would it be any bit of a good idea to just pull off the filter and fix it or should I do the whole drain oil from the drain plug and start fresh. I changed the oil 1000miles ago.

Just pull off the filter and the extra oil ring, reinstall, and top off with oil.

Don't drive at all till you fix it, as the second ring can blow out at any time, causing all the oil to run out and engine failure.

if I go and pull off the filter, how much of a mess will that make with oil coming out?

No more oil should spill out than typically does when you change the filter for an oil change.
