Default repinning lock cylinder

gents:

I need to replace the ignition lock assembly, and would like to use the same key that fits the doors, etc. The original lock cylinder was damaged by a theft attempt so is not usable. If I can get into the cylinders, I may be able to move the tumblers around from both assemblies to get the new cylinder to match the old key.

Anyone out there done this?

I'd leave that to the pros, honestly. That, or hit up a salvage yard and get a whole new set of locks. Just my opinion.
