Speedo Not Working

then its the cluster the gears in the needle is broken. mine doesnt work at all still and i tried everything. replaced the vss twice and checked wires and everything. also replacesd the cluster three times. luckly yours is simple

Take cluster apart and make sure needle can move (i.e. not stuck on ricer modified dial face). If that's OK you need a new speedometer / odometer unit.

Ok thanks ill try this. The needle is painted blue...

For some reason so I might take it apart and see if the paint didnt glue it down haha

Alright guys i found a few things out today.
First, I replaced the gauge cluster with a new 9k tach vs my 8k painted blue one lol
Now the speedo works fine

But the CEL still comes on around 4500k.
Checked the code it is a 21...vtec solenoid. Vtec is not working. I replaced the soleniod and still no workie..You can put a peace of wire to the soleniod and it clicks. Not sure what going on with that.
