Default starts but turns off, gauges go crazy!
HELP! car starts but turns back off and wont start again, speedometer goes up even though im not moving. Does someone know what this can be???????? 00 civic si

Try a new/different battery, or connections. I have had this happen before.

its most likely ur alt get a volt tester and put the leadds on ur battterie and u should have 13 volts sujm thing like 12 or 13 is fine but ne thing less then 12 its ur alt

But wouldnt the battery be dead if it was the alternator?

do you guys think it can just be the coil and igniter? even with only 80k miles?

does the car idle at all or does it just start and then turn off immediatly?

well if i step on the gas it will stay on for a while but not smoothly, its as if the spark or the fuel somehow skip
