tach help

Default tach help

i have a 96 civic hatchback, im doing a type R swap and my car doesnt have a tach, I dont want to mount 1 on my dash, would rly like to swap out clusters, what clusters fit in 96 civics?

well thank you, my next question is if i go with a type R cluster that is in kph, can i switch my speedometer out with the one from my factor cluster?

Yes you can take the clusters apart and switch the speedometer out. This will also preserve the mileage on your odometer.

nope
real easy
remove the front clear plastic casing from the front of the cluster, and then there's some screws on the back of the cluster holding the speedometer into the cluster.

cool, thnx for help so far, well after taking more and more looks at it, i didnt notice offhand that my speedometer and the type R ones are different colors, kinda wanna keep it uniform. does ne1 know newhere to get a cluster that redlines at or around 8400rpm that has a speedometer in MPH?

there isn't a 96-98 MPH cluster with a redline above whatever the EX has, which I believe is 6800RPM.

Why does it matter to you where the physical redline is as long as the tach goes high enough?

was just hoping there was sumthing out there ya know, didnt rly want my redline to be off the tach, so i was just searching.
