Default timing belt change

hi im new here, and im not really in to cars and all but i believe that timing belt change should be 60k-70? and probably 90k for civic cx since it has about 106hp and its a sohc, so it doesnt cause my stress on the timing belt? ?? im not really sure i got confused on reading some of the forum stuff, but im on 79k and do u guys think my timing belt would last to 90k and should be changed asap? ?

correct me if im wrong ,

It's best to go ahead and replaced it. It's much cheaper than taking the risk of it breaking. 60K is a good interval although many of the models reccomend 90K.

yeah, at 79k youre justified in changing it, though it MAY last well past 100k, its not worth it. you can change it yourself if you have a somewhat decent mechanical knowledge base, and a decent set of tools. it will cost you around a hundred bucks off of Ebay to do it and the tensioner pulley, along with the waterpump, which should almost always be done with the timing belt.
