timing belt change

Default timing belt change

97 civic lx, 155k. does this engine, sohc nonvtec, have tdc marks on the cam and crank pullys to help you time the engine properly?

Default timing blt

i am not seeing the white and red marks on the crankshaft to put at tdc.. do u have to make them?

Does the engine run? If so, keep rotating the crank pulley counterclockwise until the cam pulley is set perfectly at TDC1. Then look down at the pointer and the crank pulley. There will be a set of triplet marks with the red one in the middle and a lone white TDC1 mark to the far right. The latter should align with the pointer.



This picture shows pointer aligned with red mark, but you want it aligned with the white mark.
