What can cause the 12v Ignition wire to lose power? 2000 civic
I have a clifford remote start and alarm wired in my 2000 civic. It has been working fine for months. This morning when I went to go put the panels back on to cover the wires, after they were on, the car stopped working. The key wouldn't turn it on and the only thing that will work is the remote unlock/lock, but it doesn't flash the lights or make a noise when I do it. After about 3 hours of checking everything and what not. I figured out that the 12v wire (white) wasn't getting power. I checked the fuses over quickly. The only think I could think that would make this happen was if a wire got pinched as i was trying to cram the panels back on, or maybe I shorted out the wires on the cigarette lighter (one of the prongs was bent, they may have touched)? The car works fine when I run the ignition off of the 12v constant that I use for the alarm.
Any suggestions? The car still dings when I put they key in, the lights all still work. Only thing that doesn't is anything that is activated off of the ignition. (Heater, radio, starter, fuel pump) Where does the wire come from? Why would it do this?
Thanks, I really need this so I can get to work tomorrow!
