Default Winding the gears out with some resistants

I just bought an 02 Civic EX Manual. While winding through the gears, heavy on the peddle, I'm hearing and feeling a slight surge. Maybe 2 or 3 of them between gears. It's very very small, very hard to feel, not seeing it on the Tach but I know it is happening. This car is new to me. This only happens during hard acceleration. Normal driving, I don't hear or feel it. Any ideas other than don't drive it hard???? LOL

Also, my Honda person I used told me don't worry about the Timing Belt until 105,000 miles. I was told by Honda Rep that it's now 6 years or 105,000. I'm going on about 7 years with the 07. He told me to just wait. Does that sound ok?

Thanks,

That was a typo. I was talking about my 02 the whole time, not my 07.
