Checking fuses and I'll try to turn the crank too I guess. Back in a flash with an update.

I'm going to remove the starter and battery and run them to autozone for a quick test. Update coming soon. NOTE: Engine rotates without any binding. Also, does anyone have a pic of the fuse panel for an 89 civ dx? My brother apparently lost my old fuse panel cover.

I have access to '88 and '90 but not '89 Civic information (I think these three models may be very similar). Is there specific information you need about the main and/or dash fuse box?

If you need to know what circuits each fuse controls (for '88 Civic), then you can extract the information from pictures here and in my next post.

Okay, Autozone says the battery is bad. Battery has been out of use for 3+ months now and they are suggesting it's bad. Remember: My car wouldnt even start with jumper cables on it. Still a bad battery ????

Yeah, you probably should replace the battery. If your starter is fine, then your engine should now turn over.

Aside: Did you figure out the purpose for the orifice where coolant was leaking (see your earlier Transmission Linkage thread)?

Okay, we're not getting power to the starter. We arched the starter again and it just spins... --- We still have no power to the starter when turning the key. ---- I plugged the extra coolant line, RonJ. We're going to stab at it again tomorrow. We want to figure out why theres no power to the starter first, then figure out why it's just spinning. NOTE: No problems with starter or ignition before doing the engine replacement! --- We also hooked a jumper cable to the power=negative directly without the battery in the way and still just a click. So I dont think the battery is bad and I think they are tryin to get me for 60 bucks. -- The batter was new less than a year ago, it's just been sitting...----- ANY HELP APPRECIATED!

Did you check fuses 31 and 32 in the main fuse box?

Yes, checked all fuses (main in engine bay) and under the dash. One under engine bay is a little dark but not broken. EDIT: I also noticed while under the dash, there is a white uncovered (looks to be a relay) wire with no where to go. I suspect the old b-y mechanics from trying to fix it several months ago with the old motor. Not sure if it needs to be plugged in or needs a cap or what. It really looks like a relay with the cap broken off maybe..
