Yes the h23 has a bad cam but the head flows good and 156 torque will do fine in a hatch.

Kedawei- why would i use a turbo engine management on a n/a? Plus I have an h23 prelude so i know the motors potential.
I don't know about you, but I get power hungry REAL fast and will want to be able to make more power REAL soon. That 156lb/ft isn't all that great, plus the H23 will make the car a little nose heavy, hjot a whole lot, around 80-100lbs, but it's still adding to the civic's great ability to understeer and nosedive[:'(] Plus doing any work on that engine in the civics engine bay is a niGhtame, there's close to not enough space to cahnge the alternator withgout pulling the engine.

The swap will be fun. I'll have 2 h23s layin around so I have spare parts plus selling the turbo kit will buy the mounts axles and a much needed lsd. I'll have less power but I like all motor better.
the swap is going to suck....its going to be long...and if you have luck like mine (nothing goes right) you will be a very bitter person untill you start it up.

Your not really using your turbo tune..but you need to use the new ecu so the H23 will run right, and it would be better if you could tune it for more power. (hondata, crome etc.) and you are going to need a bigger fuel pump and i would run new fuel lines just so i dont have to do it in the future.

also, you have to figure, the civic was made for a littler engine, now you throw in an H23 from a prelude or (i know the accords had the F23 and F22 but not sure about the H23) and your talking a heavier engine from a car that was made for it.....so now your even more front heavy and your going to need stiffer springs and you will have even less traction in the rear...take a corner to quick (esp. up hill corneres[:'(]) and you have just put your car into whatever object is on the side of the road....be it ditch, guard rail, or fence.

Fixed :-D
