internal and external wastegates

can you take an internal wastegate off of a turbo and use an external wastegate with said turbo
and can you do the opposite, put internal gate on turbo without one?

you can seal an internal wg shut and use an external, but im pretty sure you cant make an external into an internal.

i have a new question, on the part were you bolt the wg to the mani, the plug thing that makes the seal, is there supposed to be a gap between this plug and the side of the wg? cause mine does

It probably doesn't matter, the only way to be sure is to put it on and test it. If it is a super cheap wg it just might come **** ed up from the factory.

yeah its a cheap one, how do i tell what pound spring i have, i opened up the wg and it was a yellow one

I am not sure how to tell that, but I guess you would just have to know with what it came with. lol. I would buy a .5 bar spring from tial and put it in just to be sure.
