I have a honda civic d16y7 turbocharged. The ecu is running on crome, but it is running very lean. It gives out black smoke and gives out a very strong smell of fuel.
somebody please help.

 

if it smells like fuel, isn't that rich?

black smoke is oil
blue smoke is fuel
white smoke is coolant

 

i have a a/f guage, everytime i switch on the car it shows very lean. After a while when the car warms up the a/f guage goes blank. There is no indication on whether the it is burning lean or rich.
My fuel comsuption is very bad.
what can i do?

Sounds like your running rich actually and at idle I believe it should be lean get another tune.

 

So, let me ask you a question. If you have very poor fuel consumption, but using very little fuel... where did all that fuel that you didn't use go?

You should probably learn how to read the gauges that are in your car. They're supposed to be there for a reason, not just to look pretty.

The lower the number, the RICHER the car is. It's an air to fuel ratio. IE - 11.5 on the wideband means 11.5:1 or 11.5 parts air to one part fuel. The more parts of air to fuel there are the less fuel there is IE the leaner you are.

14.7 is considered "stoich", not to be confused with "perfect." For sake of the arguement you can call it good for idle. Lower is just more fuel, higher is lean.

Sounds to me like you're running on a basemap. Why don't you go and get it tuned for your car. And do yourself a favor and don't boost it between then and now while you're at it... unless of course you want to lose that engine too.
