Default Setting up boost

Guys i know this might sound a bit newbie but im new to turbo's

im putting my Turbo kit on in a week or two and i have pretty much everything ready to go. becideds oil lines and boost controller. what is the difference between a boost controller and a Wastegate? is it necessary to have a boost controller?

ive a got b16a2 just bought a apexi Vafc and T03\04 turbo with all the rest of the goodies.

Well it depends on what kind of wastegate you have. Internal wastegates are pre-set. However, if your have an external wastegate you can adjust the amount of boost with the spring inside the wastegate. If u have a 7PSI wastegate (external) you can swap the spring and have it hold more boost. A boost controller allows you to adjust your boost levels on the fly. They have manual boost controllers (which i think are crap) and they have electronic ones which are sweet. Greddy makes a sweet Profec 1 (something like that) but its damn expensive. If u plan on upping the boost definetly get an electronic boost controller.

Electronic wastegate. You mean electronic controller? Speaking of electronic boost conroller, where do you hook that up to?

haha i have a few in me. Happy hour at fridays rules. $2.50 miller lights. Better change that. LOL WTF is an electronic wastegate BAHAHAHA









as far as wiring, im not 100% Sure, but i think you wire the power and then tap into the vac hose attached to the turbo? Wheres KAPPA? Hell know for sure.

boost controllers arent nessecary...but a good idea if you plan on running it as a daily driver and as a track day car.

a boost controllar connects to the top outlet on an external wastegate

how does it attach to my external wastegate. it has a little screw hole on the top thats it. can you get an attachement to that?
