Default Is there a way?

Ok i bought my civic from a guy i didn't know. he told me alot about the car. i asked if it had forged pistons or anything like that and he told me it had forged pistons and rods. now he told me he would get me the paper work proving he had had this done but, he was always at work and we live like 45 mins away from each other and i lost his number. so is there a way with out riping the top of my motor off to find out if there is forged pistons and rods? its a JDM D16 1.6 L sohc vtec. it came out of a 92-95 civic. is there a way? thanks

that is how i would do it. Is pull off the oil pan and look up from the bottom at the size of the road and the bottom/understide of the piston to see if they are bigger and more square than the normal pistons and rods that would in there

Turn up the boost, and rev it to 9K and see if anything lets go.

Kidding... did the guy seem trustworthy? If the rest of the car is tight, I see no reason to doubt that he had forged pistons/rods. How much boost are you running?

I think he was only running 7 pounds is cause he had no fuel and no tune. he sold it cause he was about to have a kid and the civic isn't really kid friendly so he had to get rid of it before he finished it. we i bought it he was running stock injectors, fuel pump, basically everything fuel was stock. so the first thing i added was a apexi VAFC controller and alcohol injection. now im not running lean at all. im having it tuned right now but we don't want to raise the boost unless we have rod and pistons. also what does a thicker head gasket do for ya?
