Turbos really only spool up at WOT, i don't think they produce boost at partial throttle even if the revs are high. But I'm not the most knowledgable guys on turbos.

sounds like its not properly tuned cause one of my buddies is running 20lbs of boost on his Talon and his turbo does not spool at idle!

actually now that i think about it, it was probably his fuel pump you herd! did it have a really loud hi piched whine to it? Cause i got another buddy that has a Cavalier with an insainly loud fuel pump that almost sounds like a turbo 'spooling'!

Thats a good point i hve a very loud walboro 255 pump on my DSM and its loud to but if it sounds like a turbo then i would say he is running open exhaust or its an open down pipe or has a cut out in it. Also to make a point he could have been running an open DP or straight threw exhaust and an automatic and been on the brakes whal pushing the gas to bring the boost up.
