which turbo?
well, i have never driven a turbo honda before so im sure 350hp should rip pretty good. i just want to be able to hang with all my mustang friends. gt's with 100 shots, and a few cobras.....im so tired of being slow and underrated.---Merry Christmas everyone
yea but i dont know about the ball bearing turbos....? i looked and found a GT3071R....that seems to be a pretty good size turbo. i just do not want to get something too small and be disappointed with it in the end.
Ya I have the 16g EVO III, still breaking in the engine but ill let you know what number I put down. Hoping for 300whp at ~24 pounds of boost. Keep in mind I have a D-Series
it is just a big decision because everything is based around what size turbo you get ya know.... i want to achieve 400hp but i do not want a turbo that i am going to have to absolutely push to its limits. im really leaning towards the t3/t4 57 trim but im still unsure.
I think a GT2871R would be a better choice. Ball bearing turbo's spool quicker plus they last longer because of less friction internally. The 2871 will get you up around 450hp at the crank or so in the 26 to 30psi range with the proper setup plus with the B16 being as small as it is you do not want a larger turbo because spool time will be a issue because it is not like you have alot of low end tq to make up for the fact that the turbo is not spooled. It will be a pain in the *** to drive and be like a switch on the street. Not here, not here, not here, then bam you gain like 130-150ft lbs of tq in the matter of 400 to 700rpm. Sounds cool but it sucks to drive like that.
yeah, the turbo lag of a huge turbo would be a PITA for a DD. I'm thinking a 57 trim t3/t4 would suit your needs, as would a gt28. I don't believe either one would be big enough that lag would be a huge problem, but they should still be able to push plenty of power.
yeah i was jsut looking around read 16G would put you right around there and spools pretty quick for it's size
