turbo newbie question
You should do the manual swap first. Honda automatic transmissions don't handle boost very well and tend to break from it. Also, if you boost the auto, you'll have to use an FMU instead of a chipped ECU, which suck compared to a chipped ECU.
Yeah you can turbo it, I am doing a auto turbo aswell. I'm planing to swap out my tranny once it dies from boost. You could do a FMU or Apexi SAFC, And if you wann save alot of money I'd say piece together your own kit not to hard, mines just about done gonna be around 1400 when finished. Well hope that helps!
The project can be done...like they said auto's dont handle boost well. But heres the thing...you wont get the full effect of boost in an auto...even if you floor it, youd still shift around 3500 or so tops....its just a waste of money IMO

and yea, i agree, still a waste of money
Could anyone tell me if a kit like this is decent if you get a better turbo to go with it?http://www.advancedjdmparts.com/prod...299&page=1
If you buy it make sure you get a different manifold too. That turbo manifold might crack, those are meant for track use. Look into a cast iron turbo manifold. I think it'd be fine as long as you swap out the manifold and turbo. You're probably going to need a different downpipe too. You can get one made at an exhaust shop.
Now there are things it doesn't come with:
Needed:
A Tune
Chipped ECU
Recommended:
Turbo Timer
Injectors
and some other stuff i can't think of right now
go to the DIY section and read up on the 2 turbo kit lists to make sure you'll have everything. Also, do a lot of searching and research so you know what you're doing when you go into putting the turbo on your car.
