It's SO DIFFICULT to sand those grooves on the spokes by the edges of the rims. Im using a dremel and can't seem to get a tool to do the job. Hand sanding is really hard to do there as well. Can't get enough grip to cut through the stock grooves from the machining.
Yeah, I just want to finish a half-assed job of polishing these so I can get to the real project: the Si rims.
lol I just came back to look at this thread. Still haven't finished polishing the meshies.
Car is in the shop for a new power steering rack. Mine finally died after leaking for 4 years. Expensive repair... While I was at it, I finally got around to doing the LX to EX exhaust conversion. Still a work in progress, gotta have some welding done, as well as an alignment.
48,000 on the rebuilt motor. Still a dependable DD after all this time.
Wow, I haven't been here in awhile. The car just rolled over 240,000 miles on the odometer. That means 100,000 miles on the "new" engine (and it's all highway miles), and 155,000 since I've been driving it for over 13 years now. Still going strong, still my dependable DD, never got to turbo it after the 3rd wreck but also never moved on.
Well, the end of an era has finally come. After over 13 years of driving the Civic, I finally sold it and picked up something new(er), a 2013 CRV EX-L. The Civic was still going strong, 246K miles on it with 106K miles on the engine. But the paint was fading and chipping like crazy, the power locks weren't working all that well, the original suspension was totally shot, the blower motor rattled, and it was just way past time to get a more comfortable grocery getter. Hopefully the new owner will treat it right. He seemed like a good kid. But damn, it was so weird to see someone else driving your car of over a decade away.
Guys, I'm getting old lol. It hurt to fold into that Civic every day and commute 30 minutes. Now I have something taller with heated seats. It has some oddities, like the rear wiper with a mind of its own, but it'll do nicely. Sucks to have a car payment after all those years of just doing maintenance.
Never thought I'd see the day. Only one "OG" Civic project thread still going (zerojett). Maybe if he decides to sell and move on, I'll be able to finally stop visiting this site every few days
