Default 40/40 prop valve identification

How do you identify a 40/40 valve? Are there any markings or codes printed on the valve? I see f9c, oc2, and 79 printed on this one. Those are the only markings.

It should say 4040 on it. It may be covered in dust.

This valve is very clean. There are no other markings.

What he sent me was this:
Name: 4040PropValve.jpg
Views: 715
Size: 118.9 KB

Which appears to be a 94-01 ITR prop valve from what I can tell from brief internet research. Though that guy might be mistaken.
Either way, I'm not gonna mess with that seller again. He tried to make it right, probably failed.
