heavy wheels
alright, im getting enkie rz-5's 16's or 17's and they weigh around 22 lbs. i was wundering what kind of difference tis would make, i won't be racing or anything. will they hurt the car or gas mileage in any way.
And more braking power to slow them down, so you may go through brakes faster and it would increase your stopping distance. i would try and get something lighter, or look into upgrading your brakes maybe as well
Check around - I bought Black Racing Pro N1s, each weighing in at 16.25 lbs. I compared the total weight of the OEM tires/wheels to that of aftermarket combinations and found that the largest set I could buy without exceeding the OEM weight was 16-inchers. BUT, pick your wheels carefully and ALWAYS check the weight.
Ride, accelerationand braking will suffer with heavier-than-stock combos. Here's my wheel/tire weight findings:
