Default Obscure rims/tire size (non-Honda) question

Anyone here familiar with WWII era military spec rims? Those funky 3 piece Dodge style with the reversed thread pattern? My dad has this WWII Bantam T3 military trailer that has these funky old rims on them. It needs tires BAD. And the tire size that goes on them is apparently 600/16. Except what's on them right now is a 750/16. I don't know what that tire size means, honestly. Never heard of it. Can anyone shed some light on what that really means for me?

What's cool though is that our own forum sponsor, Treadepot, is the only one that I've found online that has these sizes listed. Major props to them for that.

This odd gem looks something like this:

Not sure but maybe the first number has something to do with the circumference.

Best I could find out for you op is 750-16 is a ratioed 16" tire, the 750 is a ratio of height to width. But hope someone could tell you for sure.

I found out more info on the rims/tires. They're WWII combat rims. They're a two piece rim that takes a 6.00/16 tube tire. The rims currently have 7.50x16 tires on them but they're really too big for what the trailer is meant for.
