Default harming 2nd gear?

Ok well my 2nd gear syncros are a little bad but nothing 2 serious, if I'm cruising at lets say 15 mph and am in neutral and decide to go to 2nd gear, it takes a little force to throw into 2nd gear, is this harmful 2 my second gear to force it a little or does it not make a difference???
