Separating the transaxle from the motor
Folks, I pray that someone in this forum is more knowledgeable than the THREE persons who have done their own transmission work and not been able to help me with this problem.
Using the Hanes book, and friends' "tips" I've been trying to remove the transaxle on my '94 Civic EX (1.6 V-tech). EVERYTHING appears to be disconnected as per instructions and yet the tranny will not dislodge from the motor section.
Should the tranny's own weight cause it to separate from the motor or is some brute force required. I've tried lifting and lowering the tranny end using a floor jack, tapped the tranny housing with a wood block and 4lb hammer, while supporting the engine at the oil pan, and used penetrating oil, all to no avail.
What the heck is left to do?
Thanks for the help.
Mark

You should able to wiggle it out (sideway), once the trans shaft is cleared pressure plate you should able to lower it and away from the motor.
If you can't wiggle it, you may have forgot bolt that is still attached.
