Paul has not gotten back to me yet. I have a different question. It seems to me that the bushing that is on the actual shifter rod at the bottom-most part is very loose. Where can I find one of those?

im willing to bet money its the bushings on your shifter. where your shifter bolts to the shift linkage to be exact. on both sides of the shifter should be 2 rubber bushings where the shifter bolt runs through. either replace those bushings or buy yourself a short shifter to eliminate the rubber bushings. these bushings when bad will cause excesive side to side movment of the shifter regardless if in gear of not.

I am sure you are correct. I cannot afford a short shifter right now, so I need to know either a) where I can get some replacements bushings, or b) what the dimensions are (I can't just crawl under the car, it's my fiancees and she has it now) so I can get nylon replacements at home depot or whatever.

Thanks in advance for your input.
