Is it bad to put the car in neutral without pushing the clutch? like when pulling up to a stop?

the clutch and transmission are designed to work together with one another, so imo doing anything to override the clutch isnt a good thing or good for it... but thats just my opinion

its not bad, just wear out your brakes a little bit faster because you arnt using any of the engine to slow you down

ehh. id rather put some wear on the brakes than on the clutch, tranny, and engine. (not that it is a significant amount)(

x2. Brake pads are a bit quicker to replace than clutches. however, rev matching and the likes are always good skills to have.

Like Berzerker said, its good for around town driving for the lazy little b*tch in all of us, its fun. Plus it teaches you how to rev match, which is useful for when you do use the clutch.

its called Floatin the gears around here.. its fairly simple but takes longer than pressing in the clutch. just go along in 3rd press the pedal to get ur rpms up and let off of it and just pull back on the shifter while the rpms are goin down and its out of gear. keep constant pressure to go into 4th but dont push so hard it rubs the gears. then it will automaticly go in once it gets to the right rpm ( and u have a constant pressure on it )

they invented a clutch to remove the friction off the gears soo it would shift nicely.. use it... ur not driving a semi truck where you dont need to use the clutch all the time cause it rev matches for you... its like putting ur car in a lower gear down hill... on manuals its somewhat ok... but an auto ull blow ur tranny... ur trannys not a jake brake... jake brakes take the drive off the gears.. downshifting makes them work 2 times as hard
