The sides are sealed. I dont think any pictures show it. However, if I were to use the spare tire well as a psudo box, it would sound awful.

how did you trace such a weird shape so accurately when making the template?

If you read in the DIY you will note that I took the box and sat it sideways on the MDF and used a pencil and traced from the inside. Then I just cut it.

i have some audiobahn 12" flame Qs, and i tried putting the kicker weird lookin grilles on em, and it wouldnt work, they wouldnt even go on without hitting the sub.
