it'll be some rain protection, but it's still moist in the door, so you're not eleminating that.

Other than using the entire baffle, is there any other way to protect the speaker?

The door was never sealed though. The only thing that was there was a plastic half-moon shaped thing that covered the top half of the speaker. This is exactly what I did to mine:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laOge42KnVg

Is this connected to an aftermarket head unit? Based on the evidence it looks like water may be the culprit; however, I am surprised no one suggested lose, disconnected, or shorting wires in the harness connection?

have you read any other posts in this thread. the entire thing talk about trying to figure out ways to keep water away from the speaker.

i know the door is never competely sealed...thats why i said that other than using the whole baffle, and the whole door, you are kinda stuck with water issues

I hear what you're saying, I just think its odd that the door wasn't sealed from the factory

I think using half of the baffle and maybe some thick plastic will work well enough. I can't think of any other solutions.

my opinion reseal door and buy factory baffle that you want.. you will have better luck with aftermarket baffle as far as buying and getting it in good shape doesnt hurt to try good luck with it
