Need some advice
OOK...i got a question for you guys. I have the resources to get a b18c1 and a b16 but the b18 is like 2600 for a complete swap and the b16 is 1600 for the complete swap. I have a 93 hatch and i was wondering which would be worth the money. Im sure a hatch would be fast enough with a b16 but i need some input in which direction i should go.

The B18c1 doesn't have that much more hp over the B16a to warrant an extra $1000 IMHO. 170hp 128tq compared to 158hp 111tq. I'm no gearhead though... I'm sure someone will come in with some performance figures to help you decide better.

RE: Need some advice
alllright another question...i just came across a h22 out of a 94 prelude. He wants 1800 for it for a complete swap. Now if im not mistaken a h22 has like 200 hp and 160 tq. I know i have to get mounts and a couple other things. Its a cable tranny too. Would it be worth it to swap it out considering all the other things i have to do to get it in?

IMO the B18 would be a better deal over the B16, but it all depends on what you plan to do with it. If you are going to go turbo with it regardless of which one you buy then I would say just go with the B16 and build it up right. Now if you want more torque then you will want the B18. Now between either one of them and the H22, myself personally I would go with the H22. That is just because it will be a high torque motor and will give you plenty of HP to launch that 3000lb hatch quick enough. I currently have a B16A9 DOHC ZC motor in mine, and it is non-vtec, and is over 15 years old and does great, now granted I still want to swap it out in the near future. I'm just trying to say you have to figure out what you want from the engine, and what you plan to do with the engine (as far as modding, and its use), and then from there you can figure out what is the best deal. You have to figure there are more parts for the B series engines than that H series as far as aftermarket, but the H is coming up and there are more products coming out for it every day. Like I said you get the bigger displacement and you are going to get more torque as well as a bit more HP, for the prices of what you are able to get right now, I would say ****** that H22 up right now and then get the parts you need to swap it in as you have the money to, but that is just my two cents worth. Good luck with your decision.
