Hi guys, new to the forum, a fair noob when it comes to cars. Recently had my car inspected and was told that my engine light turns on due to catalytic converter. Apparently the sensor there, noticed a crack in the manifold and sensed the pressure difference.

I paid a mechanic 20 bucks to weld that area, he stated that he can hear that the crack goes to the backside of the piece as well, he could charge me 150 to take it off and weld it. Which I do not want to do.

So, I have to replace the part and needed advice from you guys, I hear people install headers and wanted to know what you guys would suggest, I have a 150 dollar budget for the part that will fit my d17 engine.

I appreciate the advice.
